Nuraaaaaahhh!!! Hulk Smash!!!

Okay, so, there is nothing like having to work an opening shift after not sleeping well. Compile that with having to fix all the errors, problems, and mistakes, and yes, I know all three of those can equal the same thing. Simply put, today was a MONDAY!!! It didn't help that it was also, actually, a MONDAY!!! Good news is that the shift today was short. I read a nice book and most of a second one.

Okay, so, now it's time to fill in what I've been up to for the previous week because I totally didn't post anything since the 19th.

Sorry. So, first off, I came up with an idea for a screenplay (a.k.a. movie script) about a man who's body is literally a cage that captures demons. But wait, there is more: A vampire comes to town and begins turning people into lesserpires (that's my fan-nickname for them). This main vampire is going to be very similar to Bram Stoker's Dracula. And, there is going to be a sentient zombie who helps the main character against the vampires. I want to mix satire with action and comedy. Today, I start writing the script. Maybe it'll become a movie in a couple of years. That would be badass.

Okay, next up: I've read quite a few books. Various stuff like Clive Cussler's Medusa. Bottom line on this book, it was okay. Not as good as his earlier works. I also started re-reading the Star Wars novels, The New Jedi Order. Which is super badass. To summarize the plot, extra-galactic aliens enter the Star Wars Galaxy, and they cannot be felt through the force. They use living technology to battle the New Republic, and the Jedi find themselves wondering if the dark side is truly evil, because the light side is almost completely ineffective to the aliens, the Yuuzhan Vong.

I also have been playing a ton of Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs Capcom 3. Yeah yeah, more video games. I just can't help myself. I need to get out more.

Anyways, now the part of awesomeness. The music for today! First off, my friend Brian posted a video to a band called Two Steps from Hell. The guys who make this music usual write either the music to trailers or the actual music scores to movies. Here is a delicious tasty treat. United we stand, Divided we fall!

Next up, Blotted Science. These guys are a bit proggy. And it's also an instrumental. So, enjoy it. The Insomniac.

You gotta believe!

You know, the number of pessimists in the world has increased. The number of people who don't believe in anything has increased. The number of those who believe only their belief is right has increased. And quite frankly, it pisses me off.

I think it is time for a change. A change from within ourselves. Stop saying that someone else's belief is wrong. So what if someone doesn't believe in God, or a god. That is his/her belief. They believe that there isn't a god. On the flip side, stop saying that people who believe in God, or a god, are wrong. People are entitled to their own opinions, even if you feel that it is wrong. By confronting them, all you do is create conflict, and thereby do more damage than you realize. By creating conflict, you waste time, energy, and you pit your beliefs against each other.

I believe in God, and Jesus, but I'm not gonna say my religion is perfect. I've seen the problems that exist within the religion, but I have also seen the problems that exist outside of my religion. I don't want to waste my time fighting against your beliefs because I have no intention of EVER CHANGING my beliefs. However, I don't want to force my beliefs down anyone else's throats. I'll admit, I'm not perfect, but I don't go out of my way for conflict. Look at how divided we are. United we stand, divided we fall. We must learn to agree to disagree.

Beliefs are magical and powerful things. Even if what you believe in isn't. I believe in myself, that I will succeed. But I also know I will fall, fail, and possibly even give up. But as long as I believe that I will succeed, I can keep going. I have faith in myself, thereby, I give myself the power and energy to keep going. Because of faith in myself. Or in God. Or whatever belief you believe in. When you believe in something, it grants you strength. To continue, to fight, to build, to simply do.

The issue comes down to the fact people don't believe in things any more. I know a great deal of people who don't believe in themselves, and thereby never attempt to do something. They always stay in the same place, afraid to step forward and challenge the world. You Gotta Believe! This song always makes me feel badass. Maybe it'll help you out if you're feeling down. Princes of the Universe.

So come on. Keep going. Go kick some asses, succeed in what you set out to do. Don't let yourself get down. You only lose when you quit.

You know that's right.

Hello everybody. So, let me start off by telling you a short story about a man who goes to the gym. Yes, that man is me! Okay, anyways, I'm at the gym, running, doing my usual 30 minutes on the elliptical, running at high speed. This gorgeous girl gets on one of the other ellipticals. This girl is also very fit. She definitely works out all the damn time. Well, 20 minutes later of running, she's out of energy and exhausted, and I'm just continuing. Did not run out of energy. A really good song comes on my iPod and I'm smiling as she walks by. She scowls and glares daggers at me.

Two days later, I mean, today: I go the gym. Running as usual. This girl comes in, stands right in front of me, and proceeds to stretch, bend, and shake her muscle drink. Literally less then five feet in front of me. Whether or not this was a fluke hasn't been decided. If this girl does it again, I'll definitely go introduce myself. Otherwise, she was taunting me. Haha.

In other news, yesterday, my cologne came in. I ordered this Japanese cologne after it was advertised in an anime I was watching. Yeah, nerd levels reached maximum. Well, this cologne is really really nice. Hell, maybe the cologne is what caused that gorgeous babe to...well...okay that is stretching it. Unless this cologne has magical powers...which I sure hope it does.

Alright, back to seriousness. Today's song is from Ozzy Osbourne's newest album. This song gets me pumped while I workout at the gym. Let me Hear you Scream.

That is all for now.

And I'm all out of Bubblegum!

First off, I'd like to say sorry about not posting in about a week. I had lost my soul for a while playing Fallout 3. Fawkes and I had to run through the streets after Liberty Prime to stop the Enclave. Now that the future has been saved, I have returned to now to continue my usual shenanigans.

So let me start off with a book review...or two. Yeah, I read two more books while at work. First off, Salem's Lot by Stephen King. Over all, it was okay. Maybe I just don't find his books to be scary, or down right amazing. The only book that completely blew me away that he wrote was the book Insomnia. Anyhoo, Salem's Lot is about a small town called Jerusalem's Lot, and how a vampire comes to the town and begins turning everybody into vampires. Barlow is a standard classical vampire, very very similar to Bram Stoker's Dracula. Pretty much everybody dies in the story except for three of the main characters. Oh yeah, spoiler alert, whoops.

The other book I read was yet another Dresden Files book. This was book 8, Proven Guilty. This book is about how creatures called Phobophages are attacking random people at a horror movie convention by transforming themselves into those horror movie monsters. And Harry has been tasked to find out who has been using black magic in the city before its too late...but when he finds out exactly who it is that is using black magic, he must do everything in his power to save her...Yeah, the book is pretty badass and a nice followup to book 7.

So, after I beat Fallout Three, I really wanted to go play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. However...I couldn't find the game. I was going insane because the game is a like a drug. If you haven't played Oblivion, then you don't know how damn addictive the game is. But I found it today. So it is possible that I'll lose my soul for a while again. So I'm gonna make this blog post pretty long to make it fair.

Music NEWS!!!!! So, I joined my brother Dan in going to Soundgarden, the store, not the band. It's this huge music store that imports a lot of music. It's in Syracuse, so if you're ever out there, you should go check it out. Anyways, I purchased the new Leprous album because I've been a huge fan of these guys for like, three maybe four years. So, without further adieu, here is a song from the new album: Cryptogenic Desires.

The band is a bit unusual but I think its really original and creative. But the album cover is really really bizarre and I can't explain it.

One final thing. The artwork for the main character in my comic, Lands of Chaos, is finished. Here you go. Check him out, Goza Minos.

FYI, aliens did it.

Well, I'm out of time for now.

Er...what I meant to say was Jar Jar Binks.

False alarm everybody. We don't need to kill Batman, we need to kill Jar Jar Binks.

Yeah, for some reason, I could not remember his name, thank God. I've almost eliminated my memory of that awful character.

Anyhoo, I didn't post on my blog yesterday, cause once again, Fallout 3 stole my soul. But here I am today. I don't really have much new going on in life, but I do have some thoughts bouncing around in my skull. Here's an observation from my job. 100% of people who use Unemployment cards don't read the sign that says we don't accept it as payment. Okay, well, it may not be 100%, but it's definitely in the 80's.

And in other news, I've further plotted out the Dresden File Fan-Fic. And it is called Kinetomancy. Yep. I actually plan on doing more creative writing. Definitely continuing the Dark Knight and the Nephilim, and possibly starting the Dresden Files fan-fic.

While I was at work, I read book 7 of the Dresden Files. Dead Beat. This book is a must read amongst must reads. Two words: Zombie T-Rex. (Or is it three cause of the hyphen?) The book is about a group of Necromancers who are trying to find a book called The Word of Kemmler. And how Dresden has to stop them, find the book, and save the city.

The Dark Knight and the Nephilim - Prologue (part three)

The boy glared at Exlancos.

"I really suggest fleeing." Exlancos shook his head. "Until we meet again, boy." Exlancos snapped his finger and his body disappeared. The boy glanced around. Exlancos was gone. The fire spread through the house. The boy began crying as he ran towards the huge hole in the wall.

...some time later...

The boy waited in a line with plenty of other children. They were inside a large cathedral. The line progressed slowly, but soon enough he stood at the front. An old woman sat in a chair behind a table.

"State your name." The woman asked.

"Allister." The boy replied.

"You came alone?" She asked. Allister nodded. "Orphan. Brother Furos will take you along."

----------------------------------------
Okay. I'm kinda getting a light brain fart here. So I'll stop this for the time being. I will however, start the Dresden Files Fan-Fic.
----------------------------------------

Dresden Files (Fan-Fic) - Rising Shadows - Chapter One (part one)

Not all wizards are insanely powerful. Hell, most of us with any magical talent are practically weaklings. I can't hold a candle to the Wardens of the White Council. But then again, they don't even know who I am.

My name is Carmick McGregor. Though, for some reason, most people call me Carma, as in, Karma. It is, quite frankly, the most annoying thing in the world.

Now, what I mean by the White Council not knowing who I am, is simply, I'm really good at hiding my magical talents. No, I'm not some evil mastermind plotting to destroy the world. The world is already in bad shape. A few months ago, over a million people just died...all across the globe. It's mostly being written off as some mysterious virus.

But I know better. Their hearts had exploded...right from their chests. That is very powerful and dangerous Thaumaturgy. I don't know all the details, but now is the perfect time to keep yourself hidden. If someone has the kind of magical power to eliminate that many people, well, damn. It's no good.
----------------------------------------------

Okay everybody. That's it for the blog today.

The plan is set. We kill the Batman.

I had intended on writing the rest of the prologue for Dark Knight and the Nephilim. But....I started playing Fallout 3. And there went my day. Well, I didn't spend my...entire...day...playing it. I also worked this morning. I really hate opening. But hey, it's a job. I'm supposed to do it cause I'm being paid to do it. But it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Although...I did read this awesome book today. Book six of the Dresden Files, Blood Rites. Seriously, if you haven't read any of the books, go read one. In this one, Harry Dresden is trying to stop a Entropy Curse from killing a bunch of adult film actresses. Also, Mavra, a member of the Black Court of Vampires is in town, and wants to finally kill Dresden. Awesome fights and crazy magic is what you'll find within this book.

I also watched some One Piece. My favorite anime. Hulu posts the most recent episodes, so I've been tracking it. The show is over 500 episodes, and it's probably got somewhere between 200 and 500 more before the story finishes.

Oh yeah, I also was plotting out the ideas behind the Dresden files fan-fic. I'm gonna set it in between the events of books 12 and 13, when the Fomor begin to appear. The world needs heroes. So it's about damn time someone is about to fight for peace...and the knowledge to set things right.

Carmick McGregor is an Alchemist and Kinetomancer. I may not have spelled that word accurately. I'll double check in the book.

Tony Danza's Tap Dance Extravaganza

I'd like to start off by saying how disappointed I am with the choice several school boards across the country are making. If you haven't heard, 21 states may reduce the number of days during a school week to 4, instead of 5. As if we weren't already lacking with our school systems. Thanks America. I know that when I have kids I'll homeschool them. Damn it! I want my children to be intelligent, scary intelligent. Like maniacal robot children.

Next topic of interest: I watched an awesome video on youtube today. Wow, I just transitioned from a very depressing and disappointing topic to a very, well, different one. With no real space between the two. Anyways, back onto topic. If you haven't watched or know of Adventure Time, this video won't make much sense. If you have, this will be the coolest thing ever. Adventure Time. Pretty sweet, yeah?

Okay, so, besides that stuff. When I purchased the new Pagan's Mind album, I also purchased the new Pyschostick album. Psychostick is a comedy metal band. Their new album includes some great songs like, Because Boobs, Political Bum, and Numbers. Numbers had me dying, because it's a cover of Drowning Pool's Let the Bodies hit the Floor.

My brain isn't feeling rather creative tonight, so I don't think I'll be adding the next part of the intro. Meh. But good news, I got to check out the first sketch of Goza, the main character of Lands of Chaos. My artist, Tom, drew him to look close to Ryu from street fighter. I should be able to see Goza's Minotaur form soon. And Krazahn is being drawn up too.

Computer Crash = Zombie Apocalypse

Bored bored bored bored bored bored bored. And I'm tired. Maybe the combo platter of doom is making everything suck. But the good news is that Pagan's Mind's new album is freaking awesome.

Real quick: Here's a new song. Eyes of Fire. Boom shakalaka.

Anyways, moving onto the next topic of interest: I was re-reading a Star Wars novel trilogy. The Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Fantastic. It's basically about a super brilliant and badass Blue Alien taking control of the remnant of the imperial forces, and slowly kicking the New Republic's ass. Well, until Luke, Han, Lando, and Leia begin doing their best to save the New Republic. And even then, it may not be enough. Talon Karrde, the leader of a large smuggling crew, and Garm Bel Iblis play major roles. And throw in an insane dark jedi named Joruus C'Boath. It's a great read if you like Star Wars, and unlike the new trilogy, it doesn't suck.

Alrighty, now that I have that minor review done, I think I'll continue writing that prologue from the other day. But first, One Piece. Woo. I was watching a bunch of episodes on Hulu today cause I really didn't have anything else to do...and well...no energy because I had to open.

Anyhoo, back to the main point:

The Dark Knight and the Nephilim - Prologue (part two)

Screams resounded. The figure walked into the house. A woman lit a candle. The figure smiled. He had cat-like ears, long dark purple hair, and a single horn on his forehead. The woman screamed.

"Be gone from here, demon-fiend." The woman said. A small boy peaked his head from behind her. The demon-fiend smiled.

"Yes. I'll be gone, but not until I've done my deed." He replied. He lifted his right hand and pointed a finger at her. The finger extended and jabbed into the woman's skull. Her body went limp. The finger retracted. The woman's body dropped to the ground. The boy shook her lifeless body.

"Mom? Mommy?" The boy cried.

"Child. Where is your father?" The demon asked.

"No!" A voice said from behind the demon. The demon turned around and smiled.

"I guess that answers that question. Good. Makes this all the quicker." The demon replied. The man held a sword.

"I'll kill you!" The man yelled.

"No. You will try." The demon replied. The man charged forward and swung the sword in a downward strike. The blade hit the demon's arm and stopped.

"You can't even cut my skin. Shame." The demon lifted his left arm and pointed all his fingers at the man's chest. The fingers extended and shot right through. The fingers retracted and the man dropped to the ground.

"Papa?" The boy cried. The boy looked up at the demon with rage glowing in his eyes.

"Yes. That is the reaction I want, boy. You may call me Exlancos. Hate me. I want you to come and try to kill me." Exlancos lifted his left hand. Fire floated in his hand. He threw it into the wall and the fire began to spread.

"Run now, child." Exlancos laughed.

----------------------------------------------------

Okay, this is where I'm ending the writing for tonight. The prologue isn't finished. Exlancos was one of the first villains I came up with. I always imagined him being oddly stripped and the colors being white and a light purple. He will play a big role in this story. But the main character of the story, of course, is the boy who was left alive.

Riding across the chocolate covered Rainbow.

For future reference, all of my blog titles shall have statements of pure nonsense. That is all.

Well....technically not all. But that is the important starting factor. Tonight I think I shall shake it up a little. How would you all like to learn a recipe? The other day I decided to make an awesome jawesome desert which I called Golden Apple Sunset. Woo.

So first off. You need a bag of apples.

Slice said apples into wedges, and then after that, remove the skin. Then cut the apples into smaller cubes.

Next, you need a large pan, or wok. Put in 1/3 stick of butter and a light drizzle of Walnut Oil. The walnut oil is pretty strong, so don't use too much. Melt the butter and put the apples into the pan. Cook on a low heat, roughly setting four or five.

Next, you need to add the brown sugar, regular sugar, and cinnamon. I used roughly 1/3 to 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Three tablespoons of regular sugar. Two tablespoons of cinnamon. I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon, so I like to keep it as a light flavor.

It should look like this: ----->

The next step is to put it on whatever you want to. I wanted to put it on yogurt, but didn't have any, so instead, I put it on french vanilla ice cream. Sugar attack, woah.

This is what my final desert looked like:

Anyhoo, last night I watched X-Men: Year One. It was actually pretty good, to my surprise. But it had some extremely painfully cheesy points. And they made Sebastian Shaw pretty much Mr. Sinister. Dialogue had ups and downs, fighting was really good, and the plot was pretty decent. Worth watching once or twice.

I've also been on a Pagan's Mind kick lately. Such an awesome progressive metal band. I'ma gonna go ahead and post a video of one of their songs. The Celestine Prophecy Listen to this song and feel the awesome explode from your ear receptacles.

BooooP: It has just come to my attention that they have a new album out. I'm going on to Amazon right after this post is complete.

Anyways, I've got an early morning tomorrow, so I think I'll postpone my creative writing for another day. Procrastination at its finest.

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Screaming Nonsense and other Verbal attacks.

I really don't know what to write about right now. Just some ideas floating in my head. I could start the Ivalice adventure, or talk about the Alchemist character I'm thinking up for Tim Butcher's Dresden files, or I could write something completely original.

But I definitely should write something more than jibberjabber, foo. I've been day dreaming a lot at the gym about one of my stories, I call 'Lands of Chaos'. I could go into great detail explaining the world, the characters, what makes this world unique, blah blah blah. But I'm working on it as a comic book. Expect to hear more about it as the artwork progresses. Right now the artist, Tom, is drawing up two of the main characters. Goza Minos and Krazahn Lycan.

I was also feeling like I should start writing one of my other stories, either continuing the work on Wild Frontier, or working on the Dark Knight and the Nephilim.

Well, anyways, I should start something today and stop procrastinating.

The Dark Knight and the Nephilim - Prologue (part one)

The night was quiet. Few clouds were in the sky. The moon was shimmering and a light breeze gently made the leaves in the trees shake. A long figure walked in the moonlight. His skin was stripes of white and purple. He walked towards a small homestead in the middle of a large field. His eyes glowed a dark purple and he smiled wickedly.

"Yes...this is the place."

He walked up to the house. No candles burned inside.

"Sleeping."

His smile grew.

"It'll be your last night, humans."

He smashed his hand through the wall and ripped it out. The entire side broke apart and fell way.

-----------------------------------------

That's all I got time for right now. I'll continue the prologue soon.

One last thing before bed:

Earlier today, while at work, I read R.A. Salvatore's The Ancient. Part of a new series called Saga of the first king. It's set in the same world as Mortalis and the Demon Wars saga. I feel it's a bit refreshing to read something that isn't related to Drizzt. As great a hero that Drizzt is, I feel the books are starting to get old. It's probably because of the publisher having a say in the series.

Anyways, this book, The Ancient, was refreshing because the world it is set in feels very much like medieval earth. It feels more realistic than pure fictional writings. It follows a man named Bransen, who has to use a magical gem stone in order to move properly, otherwise he is almost a cripple. It also involves a lot of dark dealings within the Abellican church. Not very often do I want to jump in and strangle a book character, but Father De Guilbe really pissed me off.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Not as much action as the Drizzt series, and lot of talk about sex. Good humor, and the fights that did happen were great. I'd suggest everyone who likes fantasy to check it out.

Setting up my Blog

Alright. I think now is as good a time as any to set this up. I really need to get back into writing, both fiction and rants. Maybe even some book reviews and what nots. So, first let me go over what my blog will consist of in future endeavors.

This blog is about short original stories, of random ideas that pop into my head. It is also about writing portions of longer stories over time, so that everyone can enjoy reading them. It is also about ranting about whatever the hell I feel like I need to rant about.

So, with no further ado, I bring this about! My blog has begun. I don't have time yet to write a story, maybe later tonight, definitely tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and one final note, I may also write some fan-fiction. Two series in particular have really been bogging my mind. The Dresden Files by Tim Butcher, and the world of Ivalice (from Final Fantasy XII, and Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance, Advance 2). But these fan-fictions will barely, or not at all, involve the main characters. Merely be side-stories written in these worlds.
